I was introduced to Giovanna Santoni in 2021 by a former colleague of hers. I was impressed by the quality of her work and recruited her to work on the 5th edition of The Pituitary. Over the next few months, she collaborated with me and my co-authors to design, refine, and produce a set of highly original figures depicting hypothalamic and pituitary regulation of the different hormones, as well as a set of detailed illustrations depicting pituitary different neurosurgical techniques. She showed an extraordinary ability to capture the fine details that make each figure and illustration highly unique and visually compelling, while also ensuring scientific clarity and accuracy. Her design of the textbook’s cover was the perfect cap to the project. Since then, Giovanna has produced medical illustrations and graphics for the 15th edition of Williams Textbook of Endocrinology as well as for multiple NIH grant applications, published papers, and educational slide presentations.
